The Hamilton Wenham Regional School District School Committee is an elected legislative body comprised of nine members elected at-large for three-year terms at the Town Elections in May. In accordance with MGL C. 71, §37, the School Committee:

	-establishes goals and policies
	-reviews and approves annual school budget
	-appoints and evaluates the school district's superintendent
	-advocates for the school district with citizens and town governments

The School Committee is responsible for setting priorities (through the budget) and for establishing local policy to ensure that the schools are properly run in accordance with state law and regualtions.
